Application Guide for Solitkote Epoxy Coating & Primer
Solitkote Primer  
Surfaces to be coated must be clean, free from  all residues of oil, grease, dust,  laitance, debris, etc, for achieving  
maximum adhesion of the primer. The substrate should be  slightly roughen ( sand blasting if possible ), dry ( maximum 4%
moisture content,  at least 28 days old for concrete )
Surface to be coated must be sound and solid, and  levelled. Cracks and water  leakage areas should be pretreated and
reinforced with epoxy mortar  or PU injection system.
   
Solitkote Epoxy
Top Coat Surfaces to be coated must be clean, free from  all residues of oil, grease, dust,  laitance, etc , for achieving  
maximum adhesion of the primer. Avoid excessive roughness on surface to be coated.  Tendency of show-through  can  
cause high spots and excessive wear.
   
  • New Concrete
    For substrate that not water-reduced, it should be at least 28 days old, not exceeding 75% RH ( hygrometer reading )
    and prime with Solitkote primer.
  • Old Concrete
    Surfaces to be coated must be clean, free from  all residues of oil, grease, dust, etc. For maximum adhesion /
    performance, surface should be  grit- blasted lightly and   prime with Solitkote primer.
  • Metal Surface
    Surfaces to be coated must be clean, free from  all residues of oil, grease, dust, etc.  For maximum adhesion /
    performance, surface should be  grit- blasted  and prime with Solitkote primer.
   
Mixing
All the products  must be mixed according to the ratio stated in the respective  data sheet. All product must be mixed
homogeneously prior application. A stirrer powered by pneumatic and electricity can be used, with 300 - 400 rpm for  
minimum 3-5 minutes;  longer time may be required for certain circumstances.
   
Application and Recoating
  • Solitkote Primer
    The mixed product should be applied by brush for first coat to ensure maximum penetration.  
    Second coat - using  brush or roller  after 4 - 6 hours depending on specific grade.
  • Epoxy Top Coat
    The mixed product should be applied by brush  or roller.
    Second coat -  12 - 16 hours depending on type of surface and ambient conditions.
   
Limitations
Solitkote Epoxy Coating should not be applied onto  the surface with following  conditions :
  • Low temperature, <  5 °C .  
  • > RH  75%.
  • Rising damp.
  • Very high traffic.
  • Asphalt floor, PVC flooring products.
   
Cleaning
Tools and equipment  should be cleaned with thinner immediately after use.

Safety Precaution
  • Use adequate general or local exhaust ventilation.
  • Observe the safety regulations  in accordance with federal, state and local  authorities.
  • Minimise skin contact.
  • Use of disposable glove is recommended.
  • Wash areas of contact with soap and plenty of water.

Step :
1. Choose the colour of the floor coating from our colour
chart.

2. Clean the floor to be coated  with detergent, etch the
surface with acid cleaner, or a toilet bowl cleaner would
serve the purpose if you cannot find one. Once the surface  
is dried, apply the coating follow the instruction.

3. Broadcast the supplied graded sand to the coated floor
and wait the surface to dry. Coat the same surface with
second layer or  third to secure the sand ( surface profile ) in
place.
