Metal Forming Lubricants
METAL FORMING OIL ( Soluble Oil Type and Water Rinsable )
METALFORM ST is a heavy duty emulsifiable metal forming lubricant designed for use on ferrous metals, high strength
alloys and stainless steels. It produces a high strength film on metal surfaces and exhibits exceptional extreme pressure
characteristics.

It is a soluble oil type of metalworking fluid which offers cost saving in oil consumption. All formed parts can be rinsed with
water and further cleaned with suitable industrial detergents.

USAGE
METALFORM ST can be used as a straight concentrate for extra heavy duty forming, and at dilutions up to10 : 1  with water
for medium duty operations.
To ensure a stable emulsion, always add the concentrate to the water with agitation. This mixing procedure produces a long
lasting stable emulsion.

METALFORM ST can be applied in minimal quantity through airless spray systems, roller coater, dripping, or similar
methods.

Vanishing Oil : Fast Dry Stamping Oil
   
DESCRIPTION
STO QD is a very low viscosity neat stamping oil based on a light, highly refined
petroleum fraction and contains unique lubricity additives to provided extra lubricity.

It is specially formulated for producing clean stamped parts, stainless appearance
at most of the time.

APPLICATION
STO QD is specially formulated for use in light pressing and stamping for ferrous and
non-ferrous metals. Due to high volatility, the carrier solvent evaporates quickly, leaving
a slight trace of film for protection against rust.

STO HD Heavy Duty Stamping & Drawing Oil
STO HD Heavy Duty Stamping & Drawing Oil  is a
environmental-friendly, highly compounded oil containing the
selected extreme    pressure and lubricity additives which
provide excellent resistance to galling, seizing,  scuffing and
scratching.          

STO HD Heavy Duty Stamping & Drawing Oil   is designed to
be used on stamping, piercing, coining and deep drawing of  
steel and stainless steel alloys.
   
METHOD OF USE    
To be use as supplied.
           
APPLICATION         
Medium to heavy duty stamping, pressing, blanking of metal plates.

Metal Forming : Defination & Process
Metal Forming
Metal Forming -- A manufacturing process in metallurgy field
where metal components are formed; involving plastic
deformation of a metal piece to produce a desired metal part
with an useful / functional shape.

However, many people may be more familiar with the term '
metal stamping '.
   
The fabricated parts may be made from single or combination of the following basic processes :

1. Cutting - punching and blanking

Punching
- A part is cut from a metal sheet and scraped,  and the remainder is retained as finished part which may undergo further
working processes.

Blanking
- A cutting process similar to punching, but the cut portion ( the blank ) is retained as useful part.
- The blank may or may not receive further working processes to produce a finished part.

Note :  For ordinary punching / blanking, the edges of the finished part could have a relatively rough surface. In other
words, approximately  30% of the metal sheet depth is cleanly cut whereas the remainder is fractured.

Fine Blanking
- Similar to blanking process, however, the part is produced with finer surface finish, closer tolerance, and greater precision
with nearly 100% clean cut.
- This process involves a work piece being clamped onto the die by a ring plate, and supported by a counter punch from
underneath during stampimg process.
- The punched part will be completely clean-cut, with minimal or no twisting thus improving the dimensional accuracy

2. Drawing - bending or forming of metal sheets
- A process involves  " plastic flow " of a flat metal sheet  shaping into a cup shape component.

- It is performed by placing a blank with precut size over a shaped die with a punch.

Note :   When the depth of the draw  is greater than half diameter of the cup shaped component, this is categorised  as
deep drawing

3. Coining
- A part is squeezed or compressed to change and follow the die's surface form.
