Prakhun Acoustics Sdn Bhd is a registered company in Malaysia with Bumiputera majority
share holding, providing professional acoustic consulting services to architects, engineers,
suppliers, contractors and industries throughout Asia, specialising in all areas of acoustics
conditioning, noise and vibration control. This company profile details the range of consulting

Prakhun Acoustics conducts acoustic related design works, and strives to treat all aspects of
noise to such a level that will provide high quality living and a comfortable environment, by way
of a cost effective and practicable engineering design.

SERVICES PROVIDED

The following is a list of services provided by Prakhun Acoustics:-

1. Auditorium Design
Complete acoustic consultancy services for all communication and performing arts spaces,
including theatres, churches, mosques, conference rooms, multi purpose halls and concert
halls. Design techniques include state of the art software-based assessment and modelling.

2. Building Acoustics And Sound Insulation
Sound insulation and room acoustics design for projects such as television and radio
stations, music/speech teaching facilities, office developments,
meeting/seminar/teleconferencing rooms, multimedia application spaces, hotels, factories,
airports, convention centres, etc.

3. Noise And Vibration From The Mechanical Services
Design and provide specifications, review, supervise installation and commissioning of noise
and vibration control systems for mechanical plant. Control of all duct borne noise (eg; air
conditioning, exhaust, ventilation, gen-set, etc). Control of structure borne noise from rotating,
vibrating equipment (e.g. chillers, compressors, pump, connecting pipes, etc).

4. Audio Visual System Design
Design, specification, review and tender of Audio Visual (AV) systems, such as public address,
conference microphone system, speech reinforcement, specialist sound systems, video/data
projection, specialist stage lighting and rigging, simultaneous interpretation, communication
systems and video conferencing and many other AV related fields.

5. Environmental Noise
Measurement and prediction of environmental noise using data logging and computer
modelling techniques. Preparation of noise impact assessments. Presentation of expert
evidence. Assistance with development of environmental noise control policies and
legislation. Noise monitoring of sources such as industrial, aircraft, roads, and rail noise.

6. Industrial Noise Control And Hearing Conservation
Noise surveys and development of noise control systems within industrial complexes for
hearing conservation programmes to meet occupational health and safety requirements as
stipulated within the Factories and Machinery (Noise Exposure) Regulations 1989.

7. Research And Development
Acoustical design, development, testing and evaluation of new or existing products, including
laboratory/field projects, together with construction and assessment of prototypes.

8. Transmission Loss Testing - Laboratory Requirements
Supervision of construction and testing for sound transmission loss in accordance with
approved and recognised international standards.

9. Transmission Loss Testing - Field Performance
To conduct field transmission loss measurements in accordance with approved and
recognised international standards.

10. Operable Wall Research And Development Testing
Design, advise, review and conduct testing programmes on locally manufactured operable
wall systems for assessment and acceptance by the end user or for research and design
purposes intended for the improvement of the transmission loss performance.

11. Acoustic Door Research And Development Testing
Design, advise, review and conduct testing programmes on locally manufactured acoustic
doors for assessment and acceptance by the end user or for research and design purposes
intended for the improvement of the transmission loss performance.

12. Impact Noise Testing
Supervision of construction and testing of impact noise isolation performance in accordance
with approved and recognised international standards.
